On December 13, 2026, the concert “Weekend Music: Matīss Žilinskis and Tresensus Trio” will take place in the Small Hall of Dzintaru Concert Hall in Jūrmala. The concert is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. The programme creates a musical bridge between Latvian classic composer Arvīds Žilinskis and his great-great-grandson, composer and pianist Matīss Žilinskis. Matīss Žilinskis will play the piano at the concert. He will be joined by the Tresensus trio. The ensemble consists of kokle player Līga Griķe, saxophonist Aigars Raumanis and percussionist Uģis Upenieks. The concert will be hosted by Jānis Ozols. The programme will feature music by Arvīds Žilinskis and Matīss Žilinskis. Arvīds Žilinskis’s works will be heard in new arrangements for kokle, saxophone and percussion. The audience will also discover Matīss Žilinskis’s original music. The final part of the concert programme will be Arvīds Žilinskis’s cycle “Scenes from Childhood” in an arrangement by Matīss Žilinskis. This is a concert where familiar Latvian music meets a contemporary sound.
