On May 29 and 30, 2026, Kandava will host the Kandava Town Festival 2026 under the motto “Kandava Like a Carousel!”. The festival invites visitors to step into a carousel of events, where joy, movement, and togetherness intertwine over the rhythm of two days. The program combines sports, concerts, a parade, a market, and various activities for different generations. Friday begins with an international 3x3 basketball tournament and continues with several concerts, including the tribute concert “Singing May Home” and the sacred music concert “A Gift to the Town”. In the evening, the festive atmosphere continues with a series of performances on the Old Town Promenade, including a dance and fashion carousel, as well as a concert by the band 100. debija. Saturday starts early with the “Fishing on the Abava” competition and continues with wake-up, market, and entertainment carousels around the town. Throughout the day, there will be activities for children, a leisure street, boxing and K-1 fights, as well as a rhythm carousel with the DJ duo Awesome Brothers. In the evening, the festive parade “Kandava Like a Carousel” and the grand festival concert “Where the Land Is Great” will take place at the “Ozolāji” open-air stage. The celebration will conclude with a festival ball, planned as a shared finale for the whole town.

• 19:00 - Sacred music concert “A Gift to the Town”, at Kandava Evangelical Lutheran Church. Free.

Concerts and Artists

The concert part of the festival is designed as a multi-layered carousel, where the tribute concert “Singing May Home” and the sacred music concert “A Gift to the Town” take place side by side. On Friday evening, dance and song performances come together on stage at the Old Town Promenade, including the Kandava Dance Show “Dance Like a Star in Kandava”, Kandava Donnas fashion shows, “Kandava Ladies’ Group”, Rimants Jakubovičs and “Riga Red Choir”. Later in the evening, a concert by the band 100. debija and a night disco with DJ Japānis are planned. Saturday’s rhythm will be enhanced by Awesome Brothers, while the festival culminates in the grand concert “Where the Land Is Great”, featuring dance groups from Tukums Municipality and the state city of Jūrmala, choreographer Zanda Mūrniece, and director Voldemārs Šoriņš. The closing ball will feature Inese Ērmane, Hayders Fernandess, Los Nens, Ainis Līviņš, and The Rock Brothers.
