Grand Performance “Indulis and Ārija” – Xiaomi Arena, Riga, November 14, 2026

During Patriotic Week, Agra Daņiļeviča’s “Dzirnas” Dance School will bring its grand performance “Indulis and Ārija” back to Xiaomi Arena. This is the first of two performances on November 14, 2026. The performance interprets Rainis’s story through the emotionally charged dance language characteristic of Dzirnas. It intertwines themes of love, choice, belonging, freedom and inner strength. More than 400 dancers, the chamber orchestra “Sinfonietta Rīga” and the mixed choir of the Riga Cathedral Choir School will participate in the stage production. The choreography was created by Agris Daņiļevičs. The original music was composed by Valters Pūce, who will also perform a solo cello part. The director is Intars Rešetins-Pētersons. The dancers will include students of the “Dzirnas” Dance School, as well as dancers from TDA “Ogre” and TDA “Lielupe”. The live musical performance will be complemented by a backing band. The production is intended as an event for audiences of different generations.

What to expect at the event

Rainis’s story will be brought to the stage through spectacular ensemble dancing, technically demanding movement and live music. “Sinfonietta Rīga” will be conducted by Normunds Šnē, while the mixed choir of the Riga Cathedral Choir School will be led by Jurģis Cābulis. The backing band will feature Dainis Tenis on piano, Artūrs Jermaks on drums and Antons Trocjuks on cello.

Venue and time

The performance will take place on November 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Xiaomi Arena, 21 Skanstes Street, Riga. Doors will open to visitors at 11:30 a.m. The performance is scheduled to end at 3:00 p.m.
