From Classical Music to Pop Music for Grades 1–6: Snow Stories – Dzintari Concert Hall, December 10, 2026
The Small Hall of Dzintari Concert Hall will host the concert “From Classical Music to Pop Music for Grades 1–6: Snow Stories” on December 10, 2026. It is designed as a heartfelt winter music story filled with the anticipation of the festive season. The concert is intended especially for students in Grades 1–6. The soloist and concert host will be Daumants Kalniņš. Soloist Annija Putniņa will also take part in the concert. Orchestra Rīga will perform under the direction of conductor Valdis Butāns. The programme will weave together excerpts from classical music, original Latvian songs and familiar Christmas melodies. The audience will hear excerpts from the music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Sergei Prokofiev. Students will be invited to sing along to winter songs. Creative games and activities are also planned. It will be an opportunity to enjoy the magic of winter and the joy of anticipating the festive season together with the musicians.
