Skaņu mežs 2026 – Riga, October 9, 2026

The first evening of the experimental music festival “Skaņu mežs 2026” will take place in Riga on October 9, 2026. The two-day festival will be held on October 9 and 10 at the “Hanzas Perons” cultural venue. The first day’s programme includes the American avant-garde metal band “Krallice”. British post-club music producer and vocalist aya will also perform. The programme features Kenya-born, Berlin-based sound artist KMRU. A free improvisation performance will be created by Michael Foster, Leila Bordreuil and Chris Corsano. Lithuanian-origin sound artist Augustė Vickunaitė will also take part in the festival. The experimental electronics project Ship Sket will take the stage. The artists performing on the first evening also include Sofi and Sophia Djebel Rose. The event offers a broad spectrum of contemporary experimental music — from metal and electronics to free improvisation and sound art. It is suited to listeners who want to discover unusual musical forms and an international programme of artists.

What to expect at the event

“Skaņu mežs” focuses on changes in contemporary music and brings together various genres — hip-hop, metal, hyperpop, noise, free improvisation and contemporary composition. The programme for the evening of October 9 includes performances by Krallice, aya, KMRU, Michael Foster, Leila Bordreuil and Chris Corsano, Ship Sket, Augustė Vickunaitė, Sofi and Sophia Djebel Rose.

Venue and time

The event will take place on October 9, 2026, at the “Hanzas Perons” cultural venue, 16A Hanzas Street, Riga. Doors will open to visitors at 18:00.

Tickets

Ticket prices start at EUR 30. A two-day ticket costs EUR 60. When purchasing two tickets together as a pair ticket, the price per ticket is EUR 50.
