EGOMANIAKI – Valmiera, October 24, 2026
On October 24, 2026, the black comedy in two parts “EGOMANIAKI” will be performed in the Round Hall of the Valmiera Theatre. The performance is scheduled to begin at 18:30. The playwright is Artūrs Dīcis, while the director and set designer is Reinis Suhanovs. At the centre of the story are 28-year-old Ārons and Kortnija, who continue to spend time together after their breakup. She is a children’s book writer, while he is a model. The events unfold over a single day during a car journey and a hike in the forest. The tension in their relationship is shaped by silence, sharp dialogue and both characters’ struggle for pride. The performance balances irony, tragicomedy and relationship drama. It also explores why some young people do not want to start a family or have children. This intimate production is built around the interplay between Anna Nele Āboliņa and Aksels Aizkalns. The music and songs were created by Zelma Jēgere, also known as VIŅA, and Fiņķis. The production is suitable for audiences aged 16 and over.
