NVO House Invites You to the Senior Citizens’ Day Networking Event in Riga on October 8, 2026

NVO House in Riga invites you to the “Senior Citizens’ Day” networking event dedicated to the International Day of Older Persons. Seniors, senior citizens’ organizations and anyone interested are welcome to attend. The aim of the meeting is to discover non-governmental organizations where seniors can participate. The programme focuses on opportunities to spend free time actively, creatively and meaningfully. Participants will be able to meet organization representatives and learn new skills. From 11:00, the creative workshop “Be Visible!” will take place. During the workshop, the association “Sievietēm 50+” will invite participants to make a practical reflective pendant. The event will also feature the masterclass “A Smart Move, an Accurate Hit: A Morning of Board Games”. The association “Rīgas Sporta veterānu klubs” will offer participants the opportunity to try chess, draughts and novuss. At the safety workshop, representatives of the Riga Regional Administration of the State Police will discuss everyday safety and types of fraud. The event will conclude with a musical surprise, conversations and refreshments. The event is free of charge, but advance registration is required.

What to Expect at the Event

Event participants will be able to take part in a creative workshop and a board game masterclass, as well as learn about participation opportunities in non-governmental organizations suitable for seniors. The safety workshop will cover safety at home, on the street and in public places, how to act in dangerous situations, and how to recognize telephone scams. Participants will be able to ask questions of State Police representatives and receive practical advice.

The event will take place on October 8, 2026, from 11:00 to 14:00 at NVO House, 43A Ieriķu Street, Riga, LV-1084.

Admission to the event is free of charge. Advance registration is required by emailing nvonams@riga.lv.
