From Classical to Pop Music for Grades 1–6: Snow Stories – Jūrmala, December 10, 2026
On December 10, 2026, the concert “From Classical to Pop Music for Grades 1–6: Snow Stories” will take place in the Small Hall of Dzintari Concert Hall. The concert starts at 10:00 a.m. It is intended for students in Grades 1–6. The winter-themed programme will feature excerpts from classical music, original Latvian songs and familiar Christmas melodies. The audience will hear excerpts from music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Sergei Prokofiev. The concert will feature soloist and host Daumants Kalniņš. The Rīga Orchestra, conducted by Valdis Butāns, will perform. Students will be invited to sing along to winter songs. Creative games and activities will also take place. The concert’s stories will weave together themes of snow, music and anticipation of the festive season. It is an opportunity to discover music from different genres through an active, child-friendly concert experience. The concert lasts one hour.
