Taisija Poluikevicha. Fragile Strength – Riga Porcelain Museum, October 20, 2026
The Riga Porcelain Museum presents the collection exhibition “Taisija Poluikevicha. Fragile Strength”. It is dedicated to the creative work of the artist, designer, art historian and publicist Taisija Poluikevicha. Taisija Poluikevicha was one of the leading designers at the Riga Porcelain Factory. She specialised in developing forms and created original designer forms and painted decorations. The exhibition features the artist’s mass-produced dinnerware sets “Marijka”, “Vasara”, “Anita”, “Ija”, “Vakars”, “Karīna” and “Spīdola”. The display also includes tableware sets, individual objects and souvenirs. The works were created from the early 1960s to the late 1980s. In the artist’s designs, functional and practical forms are combined with a distinctive individual style. Her works include dinnerware sets, plates and vases with openwork details, chandeliers, gilding, cobalt and painted decorations. The exhibition offers an opportunity to learn more about the history of Riga porcelain and one of its significant creators. It will appeal to those interested in design, applied art and the cultural history of Latvia.
