Show “Diskri… What?” – Ziemeļblāzma Culture Palace, October 19, 2026
A free performance, “Diskri… What?”, created by actor and comedian Jānis Skutelis, will take place in Riga on October 19, 2026. The event is part of the Ministry of Welfare’s social campaign “Lower the Threshold”. Through humor, the performance will examine everyday prejudices and situations in which words, assumptions, or attitudes can create obstacles for others. Witty observations and everyday examples will encourage the audience to reflect on an inclusive and respectful attitude in society. Attention will also be given to intersectional discrimination, particularly in relation to age, gender, and disability. The event programme will begin one hour before the performance. Visitors will be able to try three sensory stations and experience the visible and invisible challenges that other people face in their daily lives. The performance will take place in the Great Hall of Ziemeļblāzma Culture Palace. Admission is free with an invitation obtained in advance. The number of invitations is limited. The event may appeal to anyone who wishes to better understand equal opportunities and inclusion through humor and personal experience.
