The performance “Loneliness” will be shown at the Latvian Puppet Theatre’s Chamber Hall in Riga. It explores the themes of loneliness, waiting and memories. At the centre of the performance is a woman who waits in her chair for a word, a caress or a glance. Memories and years intertwine in her mind into one tangled knot. The story asks whether being among people always means not being lonely. It invites audiences to reflect on the human need for closeness and presence. The performance was created by Anna Klišāne and Agris Nātre. Both artists also perform in it. The music was composed by Staņislavs Kuļikovs, while the lighting designer is Niks Cipruss. This is a concentrated, 50-minute, one-act production for audiences aged 14 and over.

“Loneliness” is a wordless performance centred on visual and emotional storytelling. Its heroine waits for someone to open a door or window, say a word or offer even a small sign of attention. The production addresses the experience of loneliness and the question of what might serve as a remedy for it.
