Maestro Raimonds Pauls’ Music in the Concert Programme “Songs the Heart Remembers” – Alūksne, 11 October 2026

On 11 October 2026, the Alūksne Culture Centre will present the concert programme “Songs the Heart Remembers”. The concert will feature music exclusively by Maestro Raimonds Pauls. The programme includes both widely known melodies and lesser-heard, emotionally profound compositions. Opera singers Evita Teterovska and Jānis Kurševs will perform on stage. They will be joined by pianist Matīss Žilinskis and an accompanying instrumental group featuring bass and percussion. The audience will hear songs and duets from theatre productions and musical plays “Pāri, kas dabonas”, “Māsa Kerija”, “Marlēna” and “Dāmu paradīze”. The concert will also feature songs that have become part of Latvia’s cultural heritage. These melodies were once immortalised by artists such as Margarita Vilcāne, Nora Bumbiere and Ojārs Grīnbergs. The programme will give familiar songs new musical colours while preserving respect for their original sound. The concert combines musical storytelling, dramatic depth and professional performance. It will be the artists’ tribute to Raimonds Pauls during his significant jubilee year.
