On October 10 and 11, 2026, Riga will host the “Open House Riga” architecture festival for the first time. The festival will invite city residents and visitors to explore Riga’s architecture from an unusual perspective. The two-day programme will offer tours of buildings from different eras and with various functions throughout the city. Visitors will also be able to explore places that are not usually accessible to the wider public. The programme includes historic buildings, private homes, offices, cultural and educational venues, industrial heritage sites, and examples of contemporary architecture. Festival participants will be able to discover both well-known architectural treasures of Riga and less familiar urban spaces. Tours will be led by architects, designers, and knowledgeable guides. Tours will take place in Latvian and English. To attend, visitors must select their preferred buildings and times in the festival’s booking system. A single registration can be used to create a personal route by combining several tours. Participation in the festival is free of charge. “Open House Riga” is the first edition of the international Open House festival to take place in Latvia.
What to Expect at the Event
The festival will open the doors of several Riga buildings on both banks of the Daugava. This will be an opportunity not only to view the buildings from the outside, but also to explore their interiors, stories, and architectural ideas. The programme includes tours showcasing the diversity of Riga’s historic, modernist, and contemporary architecture.

Festival admission is free, but a place on the selected tours must be reserved in advance.
