The Valmiera Theatre guest performance “Thelma and Louise” will be presented at the Dailes Theatre Grand Hall on November 13, 2026. Directed by Juris Rijnieks, the production is based on the film “Thelma & Louise”. It is a two-part play about two friends – an unhappy housewife and an independent shopkeeper. Wanting to escape their tiresome everyday lives, they set off on a journey. Along the way, they defend their freedom, commit a crime against their will and find themselves desperately fleeing. The people they encounter become a mirror of contemporary society. The leading roles are played by Ieva Puķe and Elīna Vāne. The cast also includes Tomass Ralfs Ābolkalns, Gerda Embure, Eduards Johansons, Tālivaldis Lasmanis, Ilze Pukinska and other actors. The set design was created by Mārtiņš Vilkārsis, while the costumes were designed by Berta Vilipsone. The performance lasts 2 hours and 55 minutes. Subtitles are available in Latvian and English. The performance is intended for visitors aged 16 and over.

“Thelma and Louise” is an intense road story about freedom, choices and their consequences. The creative team includes lighting designer Oskars Pauliņš, video artist Artis Dzērve, dramatist Dace Vīgante and musical consultant Emīls Zilberts. Alongside the actresses playing the lead characters, the cast also features Krišjānis Salmiņš, Ģirts Rāviņš, Krišjānis Strods, Januss Johansons or Kārlis Freimanis.
